Product Quality:  Oppo OPDV971H DVD player is manufactured by one of the World's leading DVD makers.  OPDV971H offers DVI connection to HDTV/Projector/Plasma monitors that supports HDTV or PC-type DVI connector.

DVD Loader and optical:  The high performance, slim and compact design starts from high performance loader and laser assembly featuring Sanyo's Super Error Correction with Twin Laser and Intelligent laser Wavelength Control.  The loader practically loads and read any DVD, DVD+/-R and DVD +/- RWs without problems.   

Video Processing:  Oppo OPDV971H DVI DVD player's DVI output reproduces the highest quality upconverted images in 480P, 576P (PAL), 720P, and 1080I output resolutions.  Using the top of the line FLI 2310 Faroudja DCDi (TM) technology, video is analyzed on a single pixel granularity to detect presence or absence of angled lines and edges, select the optimal filtering to eliminate motion artifacts.  In the film mode, DCDi (TM) properly handles 3:2 and 2:2 pulldown as well as detecting and correcting bad edits.  For video-based material, FLI2310 removes the coloration artifacts produced by common video decoders. 

Please note:  Unlike Momitsu V880N, OPDV-971H does not support DVI-I, i.e. cannot use any DVI to VGA adapter, it does not support 480P, 720P or 1080i via the component connection.

Audio Processing:  Oppo OPDV971H DVI DVD player has the most versatile and flexible audio functions in the market.  It includes full Dolby Digital (TM) decoder built in, with DTS audio and digital pass-through, DVD-Audio support (with new Firmware) and a DSP menu and set-up control to adjust speaker sizes, placement, and surround sound modes: 3-D emulation of Concert, Living Room, Hall, Churches etc, Virtual surround mode, Digital EQ control.  (The audio enhancement only applies to the built-in decoder).  

User Experience:  Oppo OPDV971H comes in a slim and stylish package with an unique 'Glow-in-the drak' remote control.  The On-Screen Display can be set to 8-different languages.  Its high performance loader is one of the quietest drive barely audible when playing DVDs.  When power is off, it truly shuts down to just 1W (idling power consumption awaiting remote On).  The remote is full-sized, button has positive actions - a pleasure to use.   The package includes 1.5-meter DVI-D (or DVI-to-HDMI) cable and audio cable for completeness.
